JOHANNESBURG - The South African Communist Party (SACP) is planning a picket in Bloemfontein on Monday morning to demand that Janusz Walus be denied parole.

Walus was one of two men who murdered Chris Hani in 1993.

He was granted parole last year, but the Justice Ministry appealed the decision.

The party says the picket is also a part of efforts to seek full disclosure of the circumstances of Hani’s assassination.

SACP spokesperson Alex Mashilo says: “SACP members are expected to gather at the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein in support of the appeal. Janusz’ psychological evaluation shows he still harbours the hatred following the murder of Chris Hani. He is a dangerous man to let loose in a democratic society.”
