Wesgro to boost CT’s film production appeal at Cannes Festival
Wesgro’s Monica Rorvik says the South African team has received many invitations to speak with producers about co-producing films.
CAPE TOWN – Wesgro representatives are set to boost the Mother City’s film production appeal at the 70th Cannes Film Festival.
The Western Cape’s tourism, trade and investment promotion agency says more than 50 South Africans will be attending this year’s event.
Cape Town Film Studios will also be hosting an event at the South African national pavilion on 24 May.
Wesgro’s Monica Rorvik says the South African team has received many invitations to speak with producers about co-producing films.
“We go to meet the nine co-production companies. We meet them at their panels and functions. We are trying to get meetings for our producers.”
The festival kicked off in Cannes, France on Wednesday.
