JOHANNESBURG – As former South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) chief operating officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng is set to face a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday, his lawyer says those making allegations against him must prove them.

Motsoeneng faces a charge for remarks made at an unsanctioned press conference last month when he criticised the newly appointed SABC interim board.

His attorney Zola Majavu says the hearing will be based on one charge.

“The media is reporting that he is facing charges arising from the Public Protector’s report. That is not true. The only charges he is facing today pertain to the media release only.”
