11 scholars injured in minibus accident near Brits

The accident happened while the children were on their way to school on Wednesday morning.

JOHANNESBURG - Eleven schoolchildren were injured when a minibus they were travelling in collided with a truck on the R560 in Skeerpoort near Brits.

The accident happened while the children, aged between five and 16, were on their way to school on Wednesday morning.

Brits hospital spokesperson Tshepo Mokono says the pupils sustained minor to moderate injuries.

“At the moment, we have 11 stable kids at our casualty. One child is still being assessed by doctors. He is conscious and also talking.”
