CAPE TOWN - Stellenbosch University management has distanced the institution from posters with Nazi undertones which had been put up on campus.
The posters, with a heading "The Anglo Afrikaner Student" and a slogan "Fight for Stellenbosch", advertised a meeting at a university venue organised by an organisation called the New Right.
The image on the poster is reminiscent of Nazi-era propaganda.
The university's Martin Viljoen says: “The university condemns racism, racial superiority and any attempt to polarise our university. We will not allow any of them to promote racial superiority on campus.”
Social media users have responded with outrage to the posters.
