Tovey: Baxter can take Bafana back to its former glory
More than four months after Shakes Mashaba was fired for gross misconduct, Safa has named the current Supersport United coach as his successor.
JOHANNESBURG - South African Football Association (Safa) technical director Neil Tovey has told Eyewitness News Stuart Baxter has the ability to take Bafana Bafana back to one of the best teams in Africa.
More than four months after Shakes Mashaba was fired for gross misconduct, the football governing body has named the current Supersport United coach as his successor.

Tovey says Bafana Bafana need to start performing on the international stage.
“We need to make sure that we’re qualifying for all major competitions. We need to go further... it’s not about just qualifying for competitions, we need to take them to the knockout stages, and obviously, with Afcon a lot further as in getting too close to winning the tournament.”
