48 people arrested in North West following violent protests
Lichtenburg residents were protesting over service delivery, while Coligny saw protests over the death of a 12-year-old boy who fell off a moving vehicle driven by a farmer.
Calm has now been restored to those areas and surrounds.

The police’s Vish Naidoo says: "While we’re maintaining high visibility and ensuring that peace and calm is restored in the area, our operations are focused on identifying those that were responsible for the burning of those houses and those shops."
