Renè Roman: Murder accused expected to apply for bail

CAPE TOWN - A man accused of the murder of 13-year-old Renè Roman is expected to apply for bail on Tuesday.
Andrew Plaatjies is back in the dock at Wynberg magistrates court.
The 50-year-old was arrested shortly after the child's body was found at his Lavender Hill home last month.
At a previous court appearance, angry Lavender Hill community members protested, calling for bail to be denied to Plaaitjies.
Residents are also expected to hand in a petition to the court opposing his bail bid.
Roman's body was found hidden in Plaatjies' home last month following an 11-day long search.
She disappeared on 10 March while on her way to a shop in the area.
The community has since established the Roman Search and Rescue Group in honour of the memory of the slain 13-year-old. It's an initiative aimed at helping police in tracing missing people.
