JOHANNESBURG - A group of students have blocked the main entrance to Wits University, protesting over accommodation.

The students are expected to hand over a memorandum to the Dean of Students.

While there have been claims the protest is also about the reappointment of Vice-Chancellor Adam Habib, the university has not confirmed this.

Spokesperson Shirona Patel says classes have not been disrupted and will continue as normal.

"Students will hand over a memorandum, which they will do to the Dean of Students."

Patel says they have additional security on scene. She has asked students and lecturers to use alternative entrances.
