Limpopo top cop calls for community to stop mob attacks

Nneke Ledwaba says the police will act mercilessly against anyone who participates in violent mob justice activities.

JOHANNESBURG – The Limpopo Police Commissioner Nneke Ledwaba has reiterated his call to all community members to stop taking the law into their own hands by attacking suspected criminals.

This follows an incident which left one woman dead after being burnt alive in what is believed to be a mob justice killing.

It's understood a car and a house was torched in the same incident.

Ledwaba says the police will act mercilessly against anyone who participates in violent mob justice activities.

Limpopo police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe said, “The Limpopo Police Commissioner has condemned these attacks, no arrests have been made yet.”
