Alleged paedophile Sidney Frankel has died
The philanthropist died at his Johannesburg home on Thursday morning, he was 68.
JOHANNESBURG - Former stockbroker and alleged paedophile Sidney Frankel has died.
The philanthropist died at his Johannesburg home on Thursday morning, he was 68.
Frankel is accused of abusing several people during the 1970s and 1980s when they were children.
Frankel had been suffering from cancer for some time and died at his Abbotsford home.
His lawyer Billy Gundelfinger said: “At 4:3am Sidney Frankel unfortunately died. He died of cancer.”

At the time of his death, Frankel was facing civil action from eight accusers who claimed he assaulted them when they were young children decades ago.
They have also brought a high court application which is set to be heard next month to try and change the law on prescription to allow them to bring a criminal case, that hearing is expected to go ahead despite Frankel's death.
