CAPE TOWN - Sir Lowry's Pass has been closed to traffic in both directions at Gordon’s Bay following a multiple-car collision.

A truck is believed to have jackknifed, resulting in several other vehicles crashing into it.

It's unclear whether there are any fatalities at this stage.

Western Cape traffic chief Kenny Africa says: “We’ve closed the pass as the foot of Sir Lowry’s Pass at Gordhan’s Bay and we’re redirecting traffic via the coastal route though Kogel Bay and Kleinmond to get back to Bot River on the N2. People coming from Caledon need to take the Bot River turnoff towards Hermanus.”
