CAPE TOWN – Triple murder accused Henri van Breda will be back in the dock on Tuesday, this time on a charge of dagga possession.

The 22-year-old is accused of killing his parents and older brother at their home outside Stellenbosch in January 2015.

In a separate incident, he was arrested along with his girlfriend six months ago for the possession of marijuana.

Van Breda will appear in the Cape Town magistrates court on Tuesday after being caught with a small amount of dagga in September.

It’s believed van Breda and his girlfriend have attended a drug counseling programme over the past six months.

While Tuesday’s court appearance is expected to be brief, van Breda has just over two weeks before his murder trial starts in the Western Cape High Court.

The trial was meant to get underway last month but a legal tussle ensued between van Breda's legal team and a media organization.

The defence does not want Media 24 to livestream the trial, despite Judge Siraj Desai having granted permission for them to do so.
