PRETORIA - Government is briefing media on developments following Friday’s nationwide mass action against President Jacob Zuma.

Communications minister Ayanda Dlodlo, supported by ministers in the justice crime prevention and security cluster, is leading the briefing.

While more than 20,000 people peacefully converged on the Union Buildings, there were some clashes and injuries in Johannesburg.

The gathering at Parliament in Cape Town also appears to have gone smoothly.

Meanwhile, Police Minister Fikile Mbalula has commended the police for maintaining law and order throughout the country.
