WC authorities probe deaths of 3 children after food poisoning
The minors, aged between 3 months and 6 years, were among 7 people hospitalised earlier this week after eating contaminated meat.
CAPE TOWN - Authorities are investigating the deaths of three children in Samora Machel in Cape Town.
The minors, aged between three months and six-years-old, were among seven people hospitalised earlier this week after eating contaminated meat.
Post-mortems will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
Three other people are still in hospital in a critical condition.
Western Cape Health’s Darren Francis said: “The emergency services responded to an incident where the family allegedly ate poisonous food substance. The police together with the environmental health sevices and the University of Cape Town are investigating the matter.”
