Mugabe’s massage chair for belated birthday gift sparks debate
Cabinet ministers included a pen and a wristwatch made from 9-carat gold to Robert Mugabe's belated 93rd birthday gifts.
HARARE - A report that members of President Robert Mugabe’s Cabinet have given him a massage chair as a belated birthday gift has sparked debate.
Two years ago, his wife Grace suggested that Mugabe would rule the country until he’s a hundred from a special wheelchair.
Cabinet ministers included a pen and a wristwatch made from 9-carat gold to their belated 93rd birthday gifts to President Mugabe.
But it’s a chair that’s got people talking: state ZBC radio initially said the President had been given what they called a mobile chair.
This immediately prompted speculation it was some kind of wheelchair.
But the ZBC later corrected its story, saying that the gift was in fact a massage chair.
