R24 Heist: 2 vehicles recovered, no arrests

Police are calling for the public to assist in tracking the gang of robbers who blew a cash van up on the R24 on Saturday.

JOHANNESBURG – Gauteng police are calling for members of the public to come forward with information that can lead to the arrest of suspects following the cash-in-transit heist on the east rand on Saturday.

A gang of robbers blew a cash van up on the R24 near the Barbara Road off-ramp – fleeing with unknown amount of cash.

Two vehicles used in the robbery were recovered in Tembisa hours after the incident.

Police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini says, “We are calling on members of the public who have got information to come forward. They can forward the information to Crime Stop.”
