Former Eastern Cape rugby boss Cheeky Watson arrested for fraud
Watson and three others appeared in the Port Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
CAPE TOWN - Former Eastern Cape rugby boss Cheeky Watson has been arrested for fraud.
Watson and three others appeared in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court on Friday.
Their arrests come after an investigation by the Hawks into money laundering and corruption related to Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality funds.
The Hawks have confirmed Watson and his co-accused have been released on R2,000 bail each.
Their arrests are linked to a probe into the misuse of R200 million meant for the Nelson Mandela Bay's Integrated Public Transport System.
They will return to court in May.
It's understood the Hawks are still looking for a fifth suspect, who's believed to be in Cape Town.
