JOHANNESBURG - The ANC Women’s League has welcomed the President Jacob Zuma' s Cabinet changes.

The league has applauded Zuma, saying he's aware of the gender parity policy of the ANC and affirming what it calls "women leadership" through his decision.

The ANC Women's League is once again behind President Jacob Zuma, this time applauding him for the Cabinet reshuffle which has been slammed by the party's top brass, including Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa and secretary general Gwede Mantashe.

The league says the changes have made sure that different generations are represented in Cabinet, in line with the generational mix of the ANC.

It goes on to say that Zuma's reshuffle will enhance efficiency in government and is a bold move towards ensuring radical socio-economic transformation in the country.

The league has also called on the corporate sector to emulate the president and appoint more women in senior strategic positions and to also ensure their pay cheques are on par with their male counterparts.
