Chilling testimonies heard in Rhodes Park murder trial

Judgment is being handed down for three men accused of raping two women and killing their husbands at the park in Kensington in 2015.

JOHANNESBURG – Emotional scenes have played out in the High Court in Johannesburg on Monday afternoon, as the judge read out chilling testimonies in the Rhodes Park murder trial.

Judgment is being handed down for three men accused of raping two women and killing their husbands.

The trio was allegedly part of a gang of about 12 men who attacked two couples at the park in Kensington in 2015.

Judge Papi Masopa is going through the testimonies of victims and witnesses of the Rhodes Park murder in detail before handing down judgment.

The wife of one of the men who was murdered was escorted out of court crying as she couldn’t handle the gruelling details.

Admore Ndlovu, Thabo Nkala and Mduduzi Mathibela Lawrence have been charged with robbery, rape and murder.

The trio has pleaded not guilty.

Some friends and relatives of the victims were present in court on Monday, including Gauteng Community Safety MEC Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane.
