JOHANNESBURG - Police have arrested nine suspects in connection with a hijacking of a truck carrying goods worth R1 million in the Vaal.

Police received a call from the owners of the truck when the tracking device on the vehicle signalled a deviation from its route.

Spokesperson Kay Makhubela says when they found the truck the suspects were off loading the goods - some of them fled on foot while nine were arrested.

“The truck was travelling from Cape Town to Centurion. The owner noticed something amiss from the tracking device and alerted police who found the truck on that particular plot.”
