Bodies of Strand drowning victims recovered

CAPE TOWN - The bodies of two men who drowned in Strand have been recovered.

The two were on a church group outing when they went for a swim on Saturday.

They were then swept out by rip currents.

The National Sea Rescue Institute’s Craig Lambinon says one of the bodies was recovered on Macassar Beach on Tuesday and the other body was recovered on Wednesday morning.

“Police are now opening an inquest docket and investigations continue.”
