Search for missing hiker temporarily suspended

SANParks rangers started searching for the woman after she didn't make it down the mountain on Tuesday.

CAPE TOWN – The search for a woman who went missing while hiking up Table Mountain’s Platteklip Gorge, has temporarily suspended.

The 51-year-old woman disappeared on Tuesday.

SANParks rangers started searching for the woman after she didn't make it down the mountain.

Wilderness Search and Rescue spokesperson Johann Marais said: “Skymed has done a search of the whole Platteklip Gorge as well as Skeleton Gorge and have returned to base. All the other searches from SANParks and Wilderness Search and Rescue have been stood down.”
