CAPE TOWN – There is still no trace of two people who went missing while swimming in the Strand area on Sunday.

The two, who were part of a church group, were apparently caught in a rip current and swept out to sea.

The National Sea Rescue Institute's Craig Lambinon says: “They are missing at Strand Beach. Despite an extensive search they have not been found and we’re continuing with the search operation.”

At the same time, a search for a man who disappeared while swimming off Monwabisi Beach will resume on Monday morning.
