Kathrada's age slowing down recovery - foundation

JOHANNESBURG β The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation says the struggle icon is recovering at a slower rate than what doctors expected following a surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain.
Eighty-seven-year-old Kathrada was admitted to hospital ten days ago and had minor post-surgery complications which he has now been treated for.
Doctors say his age is the major complicating factor which is slowing down his recovering.
The foundation's director Neeshan Balton says: βAt 87, we are told that he is fighting very hard and he is still very strong and we know that he will recover.β
