Police foil attempted robbery outside a Bedfordview pre-school

It's understood the driver, who is a parent of a pupil at the school, was pulling into the premises when the suspects approached.

JOHANNESBURG - Police in Bedfordview have foiled an attempted hijacking at the entrance of the St. Andrews Pre-school for girls on Thursday afternoon.

The school’s head mistress Gill Jeffrey says the driver, who is a parent of a pupil at the school, was pulling into the premises when the suspects approached her.

Jeffrey says no one was injured and police and security are currently on the scene.

“At the moment we are aware of the attempted hijacking at the entrance of our pre-school, the police and security are present on site and there were no injuries.”

Police foiled another attempted hijacking in Sandton on Wednesday where four suspects were arrested.
