Forensic conference to ‘significant improve’ quality of SA’s forensic services

JOHANNESBURG - Acting police commissioner Khomotso Phahlane says the quality of forensic services in the country will improve significantly after the forensic services conference.

The conference is held in Pretoria under the theme: Fundamentals Of Forensic Evidence.

Previously, the police have been criticised for how they collect evidence and that their forensic laboratories are overworked.

Phahlane says the aim of the conference is to educate and enhance the skills of forensic analysts and detectives.

“The correct handling, securing and protection of from contamination and manipulation is paramount in ensuring quality forensic results.”
