Classes resume at TUT campuses

JOHANNESBURG - The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) says all classes at its Pretoria West and Arcadia campuses have resumed on Monday following a shutdown last week.
Students protested over funding and accommodation, forcing the campuses to close for security reasons.
The university says while the issues have not been ironed out completely, parties involved will continue to meet to discuss their differences.
TUT Spokesperson Willa de Ruyter said, “There is engagement between management and the elected student leaders. Good progress was made last week and we will continue to talk to them to resolve the issues. We have been monitoring the situation as required and we have a contingency plan should anything happen.
