Alec Baldwin: Playing Trump is not a lot of fun
Alec Baldwin enjoys being a part of 'Saturday Night Live' but doesn't have fun portraying US President Donald Trump.
The 58-year-old actor's popular portrayal of the US leader has won a lot of praise, but while he loves being a part of the sketch show, he doesn't particularly enjoy the political part because it requires so much negative energy.
He said: "I enjoy being a part of it. Playing him is not a lot of fun. He's tense, he's angry, he's p***ed off, and that's not fun to play.
"I keep coming back to the same thing, which is he won, I thought he would have settled down now and relaxed..."
He said: "What's he supposed to say? All those guys are working for Trump and they're going to say what they need to say to fit in, to get along."
This weekend, Alec will host SNL for a record-breaking 17th time and he's grateful for the opportunity, as well as amazed he's been invited back so often.
Speaking to his wife Hilaria for Extra, he said: "I am so grateful to be back and hosting the show, I can't believe I've done it 17 times.
"We sat the other day and looked through some of the IMDB (entries), what dates I did it, with who, and even I was kind of amazed, like 'Oh my God, I can't believe I've done it so many times.'
"I haven't done it in four or five years, it's fun, it's very unique, it's the only place you can do this, it's live so there's a little bit of tension to that, and the stuff is silly."
