JOHANNESBURG - The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) says over 175,000 students have received funding for the 2017 academic year.

It says it has communicated with over 9,000 applicants who were unsuccessful as they did not meet the funding criteria.

The scheme’s Kagisho Mamabolo says, “At least 175,000 students have received financial aid to study at any of the 26 public universities for 2017.”
