Growing number of ANC supporters gather for People's Assembly

The crowd of ANC supporters is getting larger as the day continues, with the party hoping to fill the area with 10,000 people.

CAPE TOWN – Members of the African National Congress (ANC) say they want to listen to President Jacob Zuma deliver his last State of the Nation Address as party president - and they say they expect him to address their problems.

The party is holding a People's Assembly at the Grand Parade in the Cape Town CBD.

Hundreds of ANC supporters are arriving at the venue.

The crowd of ANC supporters is getting larger as the day continues, with the party hoping to fill the venue with 10,000 people.

Some supporters say they have their expectations for what the president should focus on.

Many say they are at the assembly to show that the ANC is united and to also show respect and support for the president.
