Cosatu request sees minimum wage signing ceremony postponed
According to a report, the National Economic Development and Labour Council agreed to a minimum wage of R20 per hour.
JOHANNESBURG – The Presidency has confirmed that the signing ceremony for the minimum wage and labour law changes has been postponed until further notice.
According to the Business Day, the National Economic Development and Labour Council on Monday agreed to a minimum wage of R20 per hour.
A signing ceremony was due to be held in Cape Town on Tuesday.
The Presidency's Ronnie Mamoepa says: "This is due to a request that the deputy president in his capacity has received from Cosatu that they needed more time to consult their executive committee."
