JOHANNESBURG – Former African National Congress (ANC) Member of Parliament and state capture whistle-blower Vytjie Mentor says it’s high time business starts to back calls to save South Africa from corruption.

She was speaking at a debate on what’s been dubbed 'the alternative state of the nation' at the Cape Town Press Club on Thursday.

Mentor has warned that those who have been involved in corruption in the country won’t give up without a fight.

She says she’s not asking business to upset the apple cart, but just to take a stand.

“It can’t be very open but I’m sure within the parameters of protecting yourself as business you can still be counted as progressively fighting for a new South Africa that we’re trying to build.”
