Pityana: Zuma's leadership has set SA back many years
Save South Africa campaigner Sipho Pityana is calling on citizens to rise up against Jacob Zuma's presidency.
Speaking at the Cape Town Press Club on Thursday, Pityana took broad swipes against Zuma's character saying his second term has been a disservice to the nation.
Presenting an alternative state of the nation, Pityana said ordinary South Africans should not underestimate the influence they can have in government.
Pityana has not minced words about the state of South Africa.
He says South Africa is on the brink of total state capture and one man is to blame.
“His leadership has set the country back for many years on so many fronts.”
Pityana says South Africans underestimate the extent of the problem and can do more to influence change in government.
“We expect young people to play a crucial role. It is their future Zuma is meddling with.”
Save South Africa is organising a people's assembly in Cape Town next week to present what it says will be the "real" state of the nation.
