CAPE TOWN - An alleged British sex offender who is facing extradition wants his bail conditions relaxed.
Lee Tucker made a brief appearance in the Cape Town Magistrates Court on Monday.
He is wanted in the United Kingdom in connection with a string of sex offences.
Tucker's lawyers will bring an application asking the court to allow him to go to gym and do shopping.
He's required to remain at his Sea Point residence all day and report to police three times a day, while Correctional Services has fitted him with an electronic monitoring device.
Magistrate Grant Engel is expected to rule on the application next week.
The court is also awaiting the outcome of a similar extradition case before the Constitutional Court before proceeding with the hearing.
Tucker was originally arrested in Bristol in 1998 for his role in a paedophile ring that allegedly targeted boys.
He has been living in Cape Town for more than 15 years.
