Two children wounded in separate shootings in CT
A six-month-old baby girl was wounded in a shooting incident at Sweet Home Farm in Philippi on Wednesday.
CAPE TOWN - Yet another child has been shot and wounded while being caught in a crossfire in Cape Town.
On Wednesday, a six-month-old baby girl was wounded in a shooting incident at Sweet Home Farm in Philippi.
Metro EMS spokesperson Robert Daniels says the baby's mother died in the shooting: “The mother of a six-month-old baby was shot dead and the child critically wounded when they were caught up in a shooting incident.”
At the same time, a five-year-old girl was shot and wounded during gang crossfire in Hanover Park on Tuesday evening.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana says: “I can confirm we’re investigating a case of attempted murder following a shooting incident in Hanover Park. A five-year-old girl was shot and wounded.”
The five-year-old girl also rushed to Red Cross Children's Hospital.
No arrests have been made and police are investigating.
Earlier this month a seven-year-old girl was shot dead in Khayelitsha in a suspected gang incident.
