Zuma: Education a primary weapon for SA's economic transformation
The president says education is a ladder out of poverty & economic stagnation & that education is a priority for the government.
JOHANNESBURG - President Jacob Zuma says education is the primary weapon for South Africa’s economic transformation.
Zuma was addressing delegates at the Basic Education Department's lekgotla in Centurion on Tuesday.
He says this year’s meeting is dedicated to Oliver Tambo, who was an embodiment of all that was good and noble about the teaching profession.

Zuma says education is ladder out of poverty and economic stagnation, adding that education is a priority for the government.
The president has called on all gathered to dedicate time and brainstorm ideas in the interests of strengthening and improving the country's education system.
