JOHANNESBURG - Remains of a 36-year-old woman have been found at her boyfriend’s home at Stinkwater in Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria.

The woman has been missing since October last year and her suspected boyfriend allegedly opened a case of a missing person, saying his girlfriend had been missing since 8 October.

Police spokesperson Kay Makhubela says they have been investigating a case of a missing person since then until they got the information that linked the man to the murder of his girlfriend.

Makhubela says they didn’t find the suspect at home when they attempted to arrest him but he later handed himself over to the police.

“The complainant came to the police station where he confessed that he is the one who killed his girlfriend.”

He says the suspect also confessed that before killing his partner he dragged her to the backyard where he burnt and tossed her body in a hole in the middle of the night.

“He went and pointed out the grave and the police exhumed the body.”
