Cops continue investigation after three lions killed in Limpopo

JOHANNESBURG - Police in Limpopo say they’ve made no arrests yet after an unknown number of suspects killed three lions, cut their heads and other body parts valued at nearly R1 million.

Police say the suspects gained access through the fence and entered a lion cave at Letaba River Lodge outside Tzaneen, killing the lions on Wednesday.

The police's Moatshe Ngoepe has called on the public to come forward with any information which could lead to the arrest of the culprits.

“I can confirm there have been no arrests yet. We are following leads and our investigation continues.”
