CAPE TOWN - Three suspected rhino horn and ivory peddlers have been arrested in Kuils River.

The men were nabbed during routine patrols at Zevenwacht Mall on Tuesday.

Following a search of a suspicious vehicle in the mall parking lot, police say they found what they believe to be one rhino horn, a lion's tooth and ivory balls.

The police's Fredrick van Wyk says: “While searching the vehicle, the authorities found one alleged rhino horn, 10 ivory balls and a lion tooth. The suspects are foreign nationals - one is from Zambia and the others are from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

”A case is under investigation by the Kuils River Stock Theft and Endangered Species Unit.”
