The Western Cape Transport Department aims to reduce pedestrian deaths in the province.

CAPE TOWN – Transport Minister Dipuo Peters on Wednesday announced the road death toll for the festive season, which stands at over 1,700.

In the Western Cape, 60 pedestrians died on the province's roads during the December holiday period, compared to 49 in 2015.
