CAPE TOWN - The case against three men accused of forcing a 15-year-old girl into marriage in Mthatha has been postponed to March.
The teenager’s grandfathers are believed to have forced her into undergoing the tradition of ukuthwala with a 26-year-old man.
The trio, aged between 26 and 70, have each been granted R500 bail in the Mthatha Magistrates Court.
The Hawks' Anelisa Feni says the accused were arrested over the weekend.
“The Hawks received information concerning this incident of ukuthwala. The teenage girl was found in the home of the 26-year-old man. The minor was immediately moved to a place of safety.”
