Parts of Ghana's Nana Akufo-Addo's speech was plagiarized
A portion of Nana Akufo-Addo speech had lines from the inaugural address by former US presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton.
NIGERIA – It appears parts of the inaugural speech delivered by Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo at the Black Star Square in Accra on Saturday was plagiarized.
A portion of the president’s speech had lines from the inaugural address delivered by former US presidents George Bush in January 2001, when he assumed office and Bill Clinton in his 1993 inaugural speech.
In what many have described as an embarrassing start for Ghana's new president, Addo’s director of communications Eugene Arhin has apologised for what he calls a complete oversight in the inaugural speech.
The speech had quotes from the former American presidents without attribution.
