JOHANNESBURG – African National Congress (ANC) national executive committee member Fikile Mbalula says the party will use its 105th anniversary celebrations to regroup.

The governing party will celebrate its birthday at the Orlando Stadium on 8 January.

The ANC has had a tough year, losing control of three metro municipalities and calls from senior party members for
President Jacob Zuma to step down.

Mbalula says the party’s recent troubles are not a new thing and that the ANC has always been able to rise above the challenges.

“For what we have gone through, 8 January is that platform from which we rekindle ourselves and at the same time we get our marching orders about what needs to be done.”
