Gauteng police make R60m counterfeit goods bust
Police searched 120 shops in Johannesburg on Tuesday, confiscating bags, cosmetics, accessories and clothes.
JOHANNESBURG – R60 million worth of counterfeit goods have been seized during a raid in the Johannesburg city centre.
The busy area was brought to a standstill when police searched 120 shops on Tuesday, confiscating bags, cosmetics, accessories and clothes.
A man was also arrested after trying to bribe authorities while another seven were apprehended for not having legal documents to be in the country.
The Hawk’s Captain Ndivhuho Mulamu says: “Protected brands including Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana and Adidas were confiscated from all those relevant shops.
