CAPE TOWN - One of Metro Police officer Ben Koopman's alleged killers will be spending Christmas behind bars after his bail was denied.

Koopman was murdered outside his Eerste River home in February.

He's survived by his widow and three children.

CCTV footage shows two attackers fleeing the scene with Koopman's service pistol and hand-held radio.

Seven months later, police arrested 27-year-old Christopher Jantjies in connection with the crime.

Bail was denied in the Blue Downs Magistrates Court on Monday.

The case is due to resume in February next year.
