CAPE TOWN - Police are searching for two people who were swept out to sea in Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal.

The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) was called out yesterday afternoon to assist police with the search.

The NSRI's Craig Lambinon says: “Two men have been swept out to sea after they tried to retrieve their football from the water. A man went into the water to assist them. He managed to rescue one, he then went back for the other one but both of them got swept away and disappeared under water. Despite an extensive search no sign of the men has been found.”
