JOHANNESBURG – Gauteng Premier David Makhura says there will be increased police visibility on the province's roads this holiday season.

Makhura on Wednesday morning launched the festive season safety campaign on the N17 on the West Rand.

He joined law enforcement officials in various roadblocks and vehicle roadworthiness checks.

The premier has called on holiday goers to maintain appropriate road behaviour.

“If someone has done something wrong or they haven’t renewed their license or license disc, we were giving them a pack that says ‘don’t pay a bribe’ so they should insist that they don’t pay a bribe to our officers.”
