WC govt welcomes rainfall with caution
The Western Cape local government says the province needs a lot more rain to adequately address the current water crisis.
CAPE TOWN – The Western Cape local government department says the province needs a lot more rain to adequately address the current water crisis.
While the department has welcomed yesterday's rainfall, it says it's too early to say what impact it will have on the current dam levels.
The province's dams are about 53 percent full at this stage.
The department's James Brent Styan said, “It’s too early to say that this will make a major difference but it’s definitely making a difference and we are grateful for that. We welcome the rain.”
