CAPE TOWN - The bodies of two children have been recovered in a lagoon outside Hermanus.

A man who was swimming in the lagoon came across a nine-year-old's body on Wednesday afternoon. He alerted authorities, who discovered another child's body.

The National Sea Rescue Institute's Craig Lambinon explains.

“While [on the] scene it was discovered that four children had been swimming together, only two went home. NSRI Hermanus rescue swimmers entered the water and began a search. Upon doing the search they came across the body of a second child, who is also believed to be about nine years old.”

At the same time, a body of a man was found washed up at Llandudno Beach on Wednesday.
